Applying for grants can be an important process for filmmakers not only to raise funds, but to help clarify the broadest context and universal themes of their film. As a result, filmmakers can gain important insight into their potential audience, understand how to speak convincingly to other potential funders and begin thinking about the best way to market their film. And of course, raise that money!
