Suzanne Lyons, Producer/President, Snowfall Films, Inc.

In 1999 Ms. Lyons launched Snowfall Films and to date has produced/executive produced thirteen movies. These include: A BAFTA award-winning British comedy UNDERTAKING BETTY (aka “Plots With A View”), with actors Christopher Walken, Brenda Blethyn, Alfred Molina and Naomi Watts with Miramax Distribution. British/Canadian thriller JERICHO MANSIONS staring James Caan, Genevieve Bujold, Maribel Verdu and Jennifer Tilly. JERICHO MANSIONS was an official selection at the Montreal Film Festival and the Hollywood Film Festival. British/Canadian family comedy BAILEY’S BILLION$ which stars Dean Cain, Laurie Holden, Tim Curry, and Jon Lovitz. A drama THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS, based on J.T. LeRoy novel, starring Asia Argento, Marilyn Manson, Winona Ryder, Peter Fonda and Jeremy Renner. The film premiered during the Directors Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and screened to high acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival.

Suzanne co-produced the family film THE CHAPERONE with the WWE, directed by Stephen Herek (“Mr. Holland’s Opus”) and starring Ariel Winter (“Modern Family”) and wrestling star Paul Levesque. Suzanne has also produced three thrillers, CANDY STRIPERS distributed by Screen Gems, SÉANCE, written and directed by Mark L. Smith (“The Revenant”) and winner of the Shockerfest award, and PORTAL, both distributed by Lionsgate and she’s exec produced DESERT OF BLOOD.

Suzanne co-exec produced the psychological thriller, THE CALLING with Breaking Ball Pictures, Manis Films (“Ides of March”) and Christine Vachon (“Boys Don’t Cry”), with Jason Stone directing and Sony doing distribution. The cast includes Susan Sarandon, Ellen Burstyn, Donald Sutherland and Topher Grace. She produced a thriller titled MOST LIKELY TO DIE with MarVista Entertainment and a family action-adventure sci-fi film TIME TOYS with director/writer Mark Rosman (“A Cinderella Story”). She just completed post on director/actor Reggie Currelley’s action thriller, A DARK WAY OUT, with actors Dermot Mulroney and Danny Trajo.

Suzanne is in development on Mark L. Smith’s (“The Revenant” “The Midnight Sky”) suspense thriller HARDCOURT and family drama THE HUNTERS. Mark is attached to direct The Hunters and Suzanne has partnered with producer Rob Deege on this project. She has also optioned Mark’s faith-based family drama, OF GHOSTS AND TRAINS. Suzanne has developed an award-winning screenplay with writers Kate Robbins and Jill Garson titled SCOUTS HONOR, a family action drama about the boy scouts who served as spies in WWI. Suzanne is working with writer/director Mark Rosman on his brilliant John Lennon film project IN MY LIFE, and she has partnered with producer Jason Piette (“The Merchant of Venice” “Iron Sky”), and director/producer Sean McNamara (“Sole Survivor” “Reagan” “On a Wing and a Prayer”) on MOSAIC, an action thriller based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Gayle Lynds. They are working with Jonathan Vanger (Wishing Tree Productions) planning a Canadian co-production for an early 2024 shoot. Suzanne has partnered with producer Jeffrey Katz, Legacy Media Ventures, on writer Laura Archibald’s music-based screenplay THE LADIES OF LAUREL CANYON and on EFFA an historic drama about the first African-American woman to manage a baseball team. Katz and Suzanne have also partnered on Rob Kerr’s historic script A TENTH OF MERCY based on true events with director Martin Guigui (Sweetwater) attached. She’s partnered with Global Genesis Group on her teen horror/comedy film project EVE OF DESTRUCTION by Bobby Sacher with interest from director Ellie Kanner. And Suzanne partnered with Producers Terry O’Keefe (Vanguard Productions) and Leone Marucci (Steelyard Pictures) on a slate of Christmas films. She has teamed up with TV showrunner James Thorpe and optioned Kathryn Taylor’s book MISTY’S MISADVENTURES, a light mystery series they plan to shoot in Newfoundland.

Prior to her work as a film producer, Ms. Lyons was VP of Marketing for a Canadian Television station and Network where she also created, produced and directed news and series. She worked in Philadelphia as a sales agent selling film and TV for international distribution. When she moved to Los Angeles she launched and ran a film school, Flash Forward Institute, for people of all facets of the industry. She’s done speaking engagements at over eighty entertainment industry events. She’s written a book “Indie Film Producing: The Craft of Low Budget Filmmaking” (Focal Press) and launched a one-day Indie Film Producing Masterclass and eight webinars at www.IFHAcademy.com. She’s also hosted 130 industry related videos (youtube.com/suzannelyons) and has written 25 Blogs available on her website suzannelyons.net. Suzanne is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
